A snitch, gossip, or tattletale — someone who always has their nose in other people's business and reports back to authority or spreads what they know. In Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, and Ecuador, the sapo is one of the least beloved social figures. Nobody wants to be called a sapo.
The player who defends the goal using their hands and body to stop the ball from going in. The last hero between a goal and defeat — they can be either the villain or the legend in a single match.
A pig or hog — but also what you call someone who's messy, gross, or has no hygiene standards. Chancho is used across Peru, Bolivia, and Chile both literally for the animal and figuratively for anyone who acts like one: eating sloppily, keeping a dirty space, or generally showing a lack of personal care.
