A clumsy, socially inept person who handles delicate situations without any grace or tact. In Latin America, calling someone a plomero in this context means they'll inevitably break whatever they touch — literally or figuratively.
To sleep, especially a long nap or deep sleep. A widely used expression across Latin America — whoever is planchando la oreja is deep in slumber and would not appreciate being disturbed under any circumstances.
Perfectly executed, flawless, at its absolute peak. If something is on fleek or just fleek, every detail is exactly right — it entered popular culture through social media and stuck across generations.
To spot, notice, or lock eyes on someone with special interest. When you fichar someone, you're marking them mentally — in soccer it means scouts have noticed talent; in social settings it means someone caught your eye.
To jinx something, bring bad luck, or ruin something by saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment. In Argentina, if you salar something, it's your fault it went wrong — you spoke too soon and cursed it.
