A photo you take of yourself — usually with a smartphone, often for social media. The selfie culture exploded in Latin America alongside Instagram and TikTok, becoming a ritual of self-documentation at parties, travel, and everyday moments.
To stop doing something, to cut it out. In Argentina 'cortala' is the direct way to tell someone to quit an attitude, drop a subject, or end a behavior. It's firmer than 'enough' but less extreme than 'shut up.'
An extremely intense intensifier of 'recabeza', which is already a strong expression. It is an extreme reiteration of the Rioplatense prefix, taken to the maximum.
A small, simple pleasure that boosts your mood — used colloquially for anything that gives you a little hit of happiness, from a morning coffee in the sun to a meme that made you laugh out loud.
To give in, surrender, or accept that the other person was right after resisting. The one who gives in acknowledges they were wrong or lost the argument.
