A gossip — someone who can't help sticking their nose in everyone else's business and loves spreading the latest drama. In Spain, the cotilla is a beloved and feared figure: equal parts entertainer and menace, always in the know and never able to keep it to themselves.
The nosebleed section — the highest and cheapest seats in a cinema, theater, or stadium. Called gallinero (chicken coop) because you're so high up and packed in that it feels like roosting. You can barely see the stage but hey, you're in.
Someone in their thirties — typically said with a mix of humor and mild existential crisis. In Spanish-speaking countries treintañero captures that specific life stage where you're not exactly young anymore but definitely not old, and everyone around you is getting married or going through a phase.
Quick-witted, street-smart, and sharp — someone who reads a room instantly and reacts before others even register what's happening. In Colombia, Venezuela, and Spain, avispado is the person you want in your corner because they always see the angle before anyone else.
Someone obsessed with showing off — their money, looks, clothes, or accomplishments — constantly seeking validation. In Mexico, Spain, and Colombia, the presumido can't resist a mirror or a crowd. They're not just proud; they need you to know exactly how great they think they are.
