A public embarrassment so big everyone remembers it. Making a papelón means you fumbled in front of an audience — you fell on stage, said something stupid in a meeting, or showed up to the wrong event. The shame has an audience.
The class clown type who always has a joke ready and never takes anything seriously. The guasón livens up any room but can also be the person who makes jokes at the worst possible moment and doesn't know when to stop.
Mediocre, neither good nor bad, just average. If something is 'mid', it's not worth praising or criticizing, it's just 'middle of the road'.
