In Spain and Mexico, to create a dramatic or exaggerated scandal in public to draw attention to oneself. The person who 'puts on a show' knows exactly what they're doing. This expression conveys a sense of intentional, performative behavior meant to provoke a reaction or scene.
A blockhead, dimwit, or someone who makes the most basic mistakes over and over. A zoquete doesn't learn no matter how many times you explain something — they're consistently, reliably clueless.
To take, grab, or have sex depending on the country. In Spain it's completely neutral and means 'to take'; in most of Latin America it carries a strong sexual connotation that makes it awkward in everyday speech.
A cowardly or fearful person who prefers to stay behind rather than take risks. This term is often used to describe someone who lacks confidence or is hesitant to take action.
A bully or blowhard who threatens and boasts about their courage but never actually follows through. A bravucón is all talk — the louder they speak, the less likely they are to back it up when it actually counts.
