/Sounds like "ah-yahn-TOH-soh"/
A braggart, show-off, or person who boasts about things they don't have in Dominican Spanish. Comes from "allante" (false bragging, fake pretension) and describes someone who thinks they're hot stuff for no real reason. An allantoso brags about trips they didn't take, shows off borrowed cars, and inflates everything that happened to them. Used mockingly to deflate someone going too far with stories.
"Ese allantoso dice que conoce a Ozuna. → That show-off says he knows Ozuna."
"No seas allantoso. → Don't be a show-off."
