Meaning

A suck-up or brown-noser, someone who flatters the boss or anyone in power just to get on their good side. In Mexico, calling someone a barbero means they are always saying what people want to hear, showing up with coffee at the right moment, laughing at bad jokes, doing whatever it takes for favors. From "hacer la barba," to butter someone up.
