Bandera de México

/Sounds like "cla" (as in "clap") + "va" (as in "lava") + "dee" + "sta" (as in "star")/

A soccer player who dives and exaggerates contact to fool the referee into calling a foul. The word literally means "diver" (as in Olympic diving), which is the perfect metaphor for someone who throws themselves to the ground with theatrical flair over the slightest touch. Mexico's version of calling someone a flopper.

Example

-> That diver went down again, nobody even touched him."

"No seas clavadista, apenas te rozó y ya estás revolcándote. -> Don't be a diver, he barely touched you and you're already rolling around."
