/Sounds like "koh" (as in "coat") + "NYAH" (as in "Nyan") + "soh" (as in "solo")/

Meaning

Something extremely boring, tedious, or unbearable in Spain. A coñazo is whatever makes you watch the clock every two minutes: a pointless meeting, a painfully slow movie, or someone who will not stop talking. Not to be confused with a mild inconvenience, a coñazo is genuinely soul-draining.

Examples

La reunión de esta mañana fue un coñazo de dos horas sin decir nada nuevo. (This morning's meeting was an absolute drag, two hours of nothing new.)

Ese libro es un coñazo, no te lo recomiendo para nada. (That book is a total bore, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.)

Regional synonyms

A very warm Colombian expression meaning "go ahead" or "please, feel free." Reflects the hospitality and courtesy that Colombian culture is known for. You will hear it constantly when someone is granting permission or inviting you to do something, especially in Medellin and the coffee-growing region.
