/Sounds like "pahn" (as in "park") + "SOHN" (as in "solo")/

Meaning

A person with a big, prominent belly. In Mexico and Guatemala, "panzón" is more of an affectionate nickname than an insult: the dad with the beer belly, the uncle who always goes back for seconds. Hard to say without a bit of a smile.

Examples

Llega el panzón de mi tío a cada fiesta y se come todo primero.

My chubby uncle shows up to every party and eats everything first.

Desde que dejé de hacer ejercicio me puse panzón en tres meses.

Since I stopped working out I got a belly in three months.

Regional synonyms

A firm "no" in Chilean Spanish, combining the negation "no" with the discourse marker "poh." It sounds casual and almost gentle but it is completely final. "Na poh" is one of the most instantly recognizable features of the Chilean accent and shows up in almost every conversation.
