Meaning

A desolate, empty, or boring place where there is nothing to do. Used in Mexico to describe barren lots, dull towns, or any spot that feels completely abandoned. If you show up somewhere and there is literally nothing going on, you are standing in a peladero.

This town is a ghost town, there isn't even one store open.

Why would we go to that dead place? There's nothing there.
