Meaning

To wink at someone as a silent signal of shared understanding, agreement, or complicity in Chile and Argentina. When words would be awkward or unnecessary, a wink says "we both know what this means" without anyone having to spell it out.

Examples

Le picó el ojo cuando mencionó el precio y supe que había margen.

She winked when she mentioned the price and I knew there was room to negotiate.

He winked at his partner right before signing, like confirming everything was going according to plan.
