/Sounds like "keh" (as in "kept") + "MAH" (as in "mark") + "doh" (as in "door")/

Meaning

Overused and totally worn out. In Argentina, Chile, and Colombia, when a joke, a song, or an excuse is "quemado," everyone already knows it and nobody finds it fresh or funny anymore. The magic is gone from too much repetition.

Examples

Ese chiste ya está quemado, todos lo conocen.

That joke is totally burned out, everyone's heard it.

La excusa de que se te quedó el cargador ya está bien quemada.

The "I forgot my charger" excuse is completely played out.

A tricky, scheming person who uses deception and hidden moves to get an advantage. In Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru, a mañoso never plays it straight: there is always something extra on the bill you did not order, or a clause in the deal you did not notice. The opposite of someone you can trust at face value.
