Someone who relies entirely on others without ever pulling their own weight. In Colombia, a recostado always has an excuse not to work and always finds someone willing to cover for them. The ultimate freeloader.
“Ese recostado lleva años viviendo de su familia sin dar un palo al agua.”
“That freeloader has been living off his family for years without lifting a finger.”
“No seas recostado y busca tu propio trabajo de una vez.”
“Stop being a deadbeat and go find your own job already.”

A parking lot or parking space in Spain. While Latin Americans say "estacionamiento," Spaniards use aparcamiento, and finding one in Madrid or Barcelona during rush hour is a miracle worth celebrating. Drivers can circle for half an hour looking for a free spot, which is why double parking and creative "I will only be five minutes" stops are a national sport.
