/Sounds like "ah-choh-ROW"/

A Peruvian adjective for describing someone with street attitude, aggressive, who thinks they're tough and challenges everyone. Comes from "choro" (thief, criminal) plus the prefix marking becoming something. An achorao can be truly dangerous or just someone looking for a fight. Used with critical tone: "no te pongas achorao" means don't act tough. A central word in urban Lima speech.

Example

"Ese mae es bien achorao. → That guy is real aggro."

"Se puso achorao cuando le cobraron caro. → He got aggressive when they overcharged him."
