Meaning

A strong Guaraní curse in Paraguay that literally means "son of the devil," used to vent anger or frustration at someone. One of the most loaded insults in Paraguayan Jopará slang.

Examples

Son of the devil, he hit my car and drove off without stopping.

He yelled it at the referee for a bad penalty call.

Regional synonyms

To jinx something or bring bad luck with an untimely comment, action, or prediction. In Argentina and Uruguay, mufar is to curse it: if you say you're gonna win, you mufaste it and you'll definitely lose because of you.
