Meaning

To eat a lot and with great enthusiasm, devouring everything on the table with zero restraint. A slightly old-fashioned but entertaining word used in Argentina and Spain for eating like there is absolutely no tomorrow.

Let's eat, I am starving, we have not had anything in hours.

We spent the whole day eating at my grandparents' house, it was completely nonstop.
