/Sounds like "POH-chah"/

A woman of Mexican origin born or raised in the United States who speaks little or no Spanish, or who speaks it mixed with English. It's the feminine version of pocho, and the term can be a proud self-label ("I'm pocha, so what?") or an insult that Mexicans from Mexico throw at their US-based counterparts. Pocha identity lives in that tense space between two cultures.

Example

"Mi prima es bien pocha. → My cousin is a total pocha."

"Soy pocha, no me importa. → I'm pocha, I don't care."
