/Sounds like "reh" (as in "red") + "KEH" (as in "kept") + "teh" (as in "ten")/

Meaning

An extreme intensifier prefix used in Spain and Mexico that cranks up any adjective beyond its limits. When "very" and "really" just are not enough, you stick requete in front of the word. It has a playful, almost cartoonish energy that makes it fun to use.

Examples

Está requetebueno ese pastel, repite sin dudar.

That cake is absolutely incredible, go back for seconds without hesitation.

Lo conozco requetebién, llevamos años siendo amigos.

I know him incredibly well, we have been friends for years.

Regional synonyms

A shy, bookish, or socially awkward person who comes across as naive and unworldly. Think the kid who always had their nose in a textbook and never really hung out after school. In Chile and Argentina the word can sting a little or feel almost affectionate depending on who says it and how.
