Uña
/Sounds like "OO" (as in "Uber") + "nyah" (as in "Nyan")/
A thief or someone who steals small things, a petty crook in Mexico. If someone has a reputation as an "uña" (literally "fingernail"), it means everyone hides their stuff when you show up because anything left unattended mysteriously disappears around you. It's more about sneaky swiping than armed robbery.

A Spanish expression for someone who absolutely refuses to work, not even lifting a finger. The imagery comes from rowing: not giving a single stroke means not moving at all. Always used in the negative, always with a tone of reproach.
