To spy or secretly watch what someone's doing, or to snitch on someone to an authority in Chile and Peru. The sapo is the nosy busybody who sticks their nose where it doesn't belong and then runs off to tell what they saw.
To stalk or pursue someone with romantic or sexual intentions, like a vulture waiting for its moment. It's the most desperate form of flirting, when someone won't stop insisting even after being told no.
An expression of secondhand embarrassment in Chile, when something is so awkward you feel bad for the other person. You want to look away and pretend you didn't see anything that just happened.
An embarrassing mistake or public blunder that leaves you looking ridiculous in front of everyone. In Chile, mandarse un condoro is committing such a big fail that everyone sees it, talks about it, and won't let you forget.
