To break or wreck something, destroy what was working. Can also mean to take someone out or put an end to a situation — permanently.
In Spain, to hook up or have a sexual or romantic encounter. The social objective of many Spanish nights out — the reason half the people are there in the first place.
To go out on the town, to party hard. The Spanish juerga is serious — it starts late, runs long, involves food, drink, music, and the refusal to call it a night. Going de juerga is a full commitment to having a good time.
To be in a foul mood, with a bad attitude and difficult character. The 'mala uva' (bad grape) is Spain's metaphor for concentrated bad temper — concentrated and sour.
To push hard, apply intense pressure, or attack aggressively — in work, sports, or an argument. In Spain, dar caña is about going at something with maximum effort and force, not letting up.
