Someone you are casually seeing or flirting with, not yet official but definitely more than friends. A ligue is that ambiguous almost-relationship, the person you are "talking to" or "seeing" without any labels. In Spain and Mexico, having a ligue means you are in that exciting early stage where you go on dates and text constantly but neither of you has had "the talk" yet. It can also mean the act of flirting itself or picking someone up at a bar.
