A clumsy, careless, sloppy person who does things badly without paying attention. The 'chambón' isn't mean — they just can't seem to execute anything properly. They spill, drop, misread instructions, and finish everything slightly broken or sideways. Lovably incompetent.
To cross a line, go way too far, or do something that's clearly beyond acceptable limits. In Mexico, when someone 'la voló,' they pushed past every boundary without apology. It can be admirable if the excess is positive, but usually it's the opposite.
To do hard, tedious, physical work that nobody wants to do. In Mexico, 'talacha' is the labor that gets done in silence — mechanic work, hauling, cleaning, grinding through the unglamorous tasks that make everything else possible. The person doing talacha rarely gets credit.
To party hard, go out dancing and celebrating all night long. In Mexico, 'pachangar' is the verb for those nights that start at ten and end at dawn — full intensity, no agenda, just the pachanga. The person who pachanguea doesn't go home early. Ever.
A journalist, influencer, or media figure who gets paid to publish favorable content for politicians or corporations — a media plant. In Mexico, the 'chayote' (the vegetable) became slang for these payments, and chayotiada journalism is the editorial output they produce.
