When a party really kicks into high gear, that moment when things go from chill to absolutely wild. In Mexico, "agarrar la fiesta" describes the turning point where the energy explodes, the music gets louder, everyone is dancing, and nobody wants to leave. It is that magical shift, usually past midnight, when the night goes from "this is nice" to "this is legendary." Literally it means "to grab the party."

Example

"Cuando pusieron reggaetón ya agarramos la fiesta. -> When they put on reggaeton the party really took off."

"A las 2am agarramos la fiesta y ya no paramos. -> At 2am the party kicked in and we didn't stop."
