Meaning

In Cuba, a handicap or head start given to the weaker player in a game or competition. Giving someone a changüí can be a generous gesture or a quiet show of superiority, depending on who is doing it and how.

Examples

Te doy changüí y empiezo sin dos peones.

I'll give you a head start and play without two pawns.

No me des changüí, prefiero perder en igualdad de condiciones.

Don't go easy on me, I'd rather lose on a level playing field.
