A Chicano and Mexican expression for doing something with full effort, commitment, the attitude of someone holding nothing back. "Con ganas" is the opposite of "half-assing": if you hit, you hit con ganas; if you dance, you dance con ganas; if you study, you go at it con ganas. In the barrio it's an order or a compliment: either you go in con ganas or you don't go in.
"Juega al fútbol con ganas, no a medias. → Play soccer all out, not half-hearted."
