In Spanish-speaking cultures, to unnecessarily complicate things or play hard to get — putting up obstacles that don't need to exist and making everyone else work harder for a simple yes.
To have sex. A direct and colloquial term used across several Latin American countries with varying levels of vulgarity depending on context and region.
A stupid, cowardly, or naive person who acts without thinking. In Mexico, it's a serious insult; in Argentina it's used so casually between friends it barely registers as offensive — context is everything.
To overcome emotional traumas or wounds through inner work. The wellness culture has turned this word into a movement.
A difficult situation, serious problem, or something that takes enormous effort. In Costa Rica and Ecuador, yuca captures that feeling of being stuck in something complicated with no easy solution in sight.
