Traffic light, stoplight. In Venezuela, the semáforo is rarely called that in everyday speech — locals use chivato, the same word used elsewhere for a snitch, because both tell on you when you're about to do something wrong.
A blabbermouth, loudmouth, or someone who can't keep their mouth shut about other people's business. A bocón always manages to be the one who spills the secret, ruins the surprise, or shares what they should have kept private.
A show-off who boasts without any real substance to back it up. In Venezuela, mandarina is the person who talks big about trips they've never taken and achievements they've never had — all image, no reality.
A boring, low-energy, or mood-killing person who drains the atmosphere wherever they go. An aguado walks into a lively room and the energy visibly drops — they're the human equivalent of flat soda.
To intentionally forget something, dismiss its importance, and actively choose not to carry the burden of it, often as a means of moving on or starting anew.
