A close friend or trusted buddy in Peruvian Spanish, especially among men. Comes from Quechua or popular Andean speech and settled in Lima slang as an affectionate way to address a friend. "Mi choche" means my bro, my buddy, my chosen brother. Heard throughout Peru, and along with "pata" and "causa" it defines the friendly tone among Peruvians of every class.

"Mi choche me acompañó al estadio. → My buddy came with me to the stadium."

"Qué tal choche. → What's up bro."
