/Sounds like "peh-DOH-rrahs"/

A Chicano and Mexican insult describing someone of low status, lazy, useless, or not worth the trouble. Literally derived from "pedo" (fart) but not that vulgar: closer to "nobody" with a dismissive tone. You use it to diminish someone you don't like, or to describe a guy without ambitions or direction.

Example

"Ese pedorras ni siquiera llegó a trabajar. → That loser didn't even show up to work."

"No andes con esos pedorras. → Don't hang around with those useless guys."

Regional synonyms:

A way to call someone extremely hot or physically attractive in Caribbean and Latin American Spanish. Calling someone "un cuero" is a strong compliment about their looks, similar to saying someone is a total knockout. It is commonly used in Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, often in casual conversations when pointing out how good-looking someone is. The word literally means "leather" or "skin," but in slang it has nothing to do with materials.
