Fake, counterfeit, or low-quality in Bolivia and Peru: something that claims to be real but clearly is not. Chuto is the word for knockoff sneakers, pirated movies, or a diploma from a suspicious school. If the price is too good and the quality looks shaky, it is probably chuto.
“Those sneakers are fake, they were selling them at the market.”
“That doctor's degree looks like a forgery.”

Bicho
A sharp, clever person who always finds an angle and comes out ahead. In Venezuela and Colombia, a 'bicho' is someone you respect and maybe fear a little, they see opportunities others miss and never get caught out. Cunning without being evil.
