Bandera de Perú

/Sounds like 'chee-BOH-loh'/

A kid, child, or young teenager in Peru — one of the most commonly used words in Lima slang for anyone young. Chibolo is casual and affectionate most of the time, but can also be used with light disrespect when referring to someone's youth as a limitation.

Example

"Era un chibolo cuando empezó a programar. → "He was just a kid when he started programming."

"No me vengas con esas, eres un chibolo todavía. → "Don't come at me with that — you're still just a kid."
